This travel way includes the Cape Breton metro areas of Sydney, Glace Bay, New Waterford, North Sydney and Sydney Mines. The area connects to Marconi Trail from the south and to the Bras d'or Lakes Drive from the north.
This hilly road cuts through woodlands of of sugar maple, birch and spruce that are populated with foxes, raccoons and hares. The road runs east from from the Selkirk Road (Rte. 23) located south of Iona, to the Murray Harbour Road (Rte. 24).
Circling the Bras d'or Lakes, this scenic route meanders along shorelines through highlands and lowlands and is an ideal destination for bird watching and sailing. In addition to offering intimate encounters with nature, Native and Scottish cultural experiences are also prevalent.
Winding along rugged coastline, this scenic route extends south from the mining town of Glace Bay and features impressive historical attractions, including Fotress Louisbourg National Historic Site and Marconi National Historic Site. The route links with the Fleur-de-lis Trail along the Mira Valley.
